Harvard Miniature Compactor
Harvard Miniature Compactor:
This is for determining the moisture density relation of soils. In this apparatus, small quantity sample is compacted under kneading action of the spring-loaded tamper set either at 10 kg or 20 kg. As the sample required is very small, a number of tests can be carried out, each time taking a fresh sample. The time required for compaction is very much less. The mould can be interchangeably used with Miniature Field permeameter where permeability tests can be conducted at high pressures.
Specifications:
Utilized for dampness thickness tests utilizing little examples, its compaction activity copies the working activity of a sheepsfoot roller. Form is 1-5/16" (33mm) ID by 2.816" (71mm) H. Unit is designed so collar remover and specimen ejector is consolidated into one piece. Set includes specimen ejector, collar remover with the spacer plate, mold holder, 1/454 cu. ft. (129m3) volume mold and collar, compaction tamper with 20 lb. (9.07kg), 37.5 lb. (17kg), and 40 lb. (18.2kg) spring and operating instructions. Mold is machined from seamless tubing. Unit weight in pounds per cu. ft. m3 and the net weight of a compacted specimen in grams are figuratively equal. Shipping Wt. 28 lbs. (12.6kg).
